Hi everyone,
I got this idea from my cousin Joan to write about what home means to me since I'm moving to North Carolina over the next few months. Over the past 15 years I've called Massachusetts home. I've spent 26 years living in new england. I was born in CT, and went to college in VT. I didn't think I would be able to get adjusted to living in North Andover because I was bullied, etc. But now as an adult I consider new england home. When I found out my parents were moving I was sad. But then I realized that I am not ready to live on my own yet. I did visit North Carolina last week and automatically fell in love with the first house I went into. It's got some vast land, and also a barn where I can put a horse and some other farm animals. I have never had the chance to go horseback riding so there are trails in the woods where I could do that. The house even had the smell of home. I guess it's strange to say that.
I have a lot and I mean a lot of folks to say good bye too over a period of months. Luckily I am not leaving anytime soon. I am working on a scrapbook for everyone who has been a part of my life to sign. So in a way I am taking my current home with me. If I need a reminder of where I once was and who was in my life I can look back with a great big smile and say thanks for playing a role in my life. I will be fine in NC. Yes I realize I need to be independent from my folks, but I am looking forward to a new adventure and a new place to call home. I honestly believe I will never forget anyone I've encountered during my time in new england. I would like to think that goes for those who have hurt me in the past. I've moved on. I think that I need to let that go. The past is the past. I'm moving into the future now. Maybe I will find a nice college and finally get that Bachelor's degree I have been yearning for so long. I will miss the snow, The Red Sox, The Patriots, all the sports teams. I have a lot to look forward to over the next few months and years. Oh and I will keep this blog going too. I am not shutting it down. This space is too important to me to do that. Thanks as usual for reading.
