A bit of everything.

So I went to the club today after taking the Patriots day holiday and yesterday off. I went to Holy family hospital with one of the staff members to talk about the club which is always fun. Once that was over I went back to the club and had lunch, while there I met a nice lady named Linda who is a nurse. I talked to her about my illness and how I met with rep Torrisi on Friday. She was really impressed with me. I told Linda that it's been almost 3 years since I had my break. Who knows it could have passed. I don't remember the date Easter Sunday fell on in 2009. So if someone could remind me I'd appreciate it.

I don't know why I'm asking I guess it's because I want to remember that awful day in April. I guess its because I'm grateful for what happened as I told Linda while I was at lunch. I want that date in the back of my mind so I can say hey this date changed my life forever. I don't want to necessarily always remember it but I have some awesome people in my life who changed my life for the better. I'm not sick anymore. Don't get me wrong I have my good days and my bad days. But I haven't been hospitalized in 3 years due to my mental illness. I owe everyone at PAC my gratitude for what they have done for me. I still isolate quite a bit. I will admit that.

When I do stay home I tend to stay in my room which is typically a mess. But my awesome mom was kind enough to organize it for me. I feel like I've been slacking in terms of going to the club on a regular basis. I have been staying home quite a bit this month. The weather is nice and sometimes I just need a break. I think everyone needs a break on occasion and that's ok. I am fond of everyone at the club, when I go back after a break the staff and members always welcome me with open arms. I really haven't had that feeling of being appreciated in a long time. I think that's what keeps me going. I know the staff and members care about me.

There are days I don't want to go in, it's mostly due to laziness. But when I do go I'm productive and I always have people to talk to when I'm feeling down. I owe a lot to the assistant director and the director for their support. They have helped through a lot of things. The other thing I wanted to mention is that I read an interview that my favorite singer Carly Simon did. That inspired me even more because she struggled with breast cancer. I realize that's not a mental illness but she inspires me to keep going and not give up.

Carly mentioned that she is writing a book which to me is very exciting. I hope one day I get the chance to write a book about my life. Maybe I will make a difference in someone's life. Carly really inspires me I always look forward to coming home and checking out her facebook page to see if there is any news. I know she is writing a song too and was going to sing it at the ASCAP awards ceremony. I also know she also has stage fright. I'm always surprised by that fact. Because when she opens her mouth she sings wonderfully. It's awe-inspiring really. I hope when her book comes out that she decided to do a book tour. I would love to meet her. I would most likely pass out if I did though. I've met a couple famous people in my life, but I don't think I'd be able to contain myself if I got to meet the legend herself. I know some of my facebook friends have met her. I always love hearing their stories. I don't think I've read a negative story yet from a fan of Carly's. If I did meet her I would hope to get the chance to say thanks for being an inspiration. If any of my readers haven't heard Carly's music you should definitely consider buying some of her albums. She won't disappoint I promise. If anyone wants more info on Carly just type her name on facebook. She has an official page and she reads it when she can. I will end this post for now. I hope my readers enjoy this and have a good night. Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.
