Welcome to my first blog entry of the new year! Ever since I can remember I've wanted to attend GHFCW. I started watching GH when I was a teenager or maybe younger. I fell in love with the show and the characters, when you watch a show for as long as I have it's as if the characters become a part of your life. Now as everyone knows I've attended my fair share of fan events, but nothing as big as GHFCW. But living on limited income like I do, I cannot save up for the events, It's been over a decade since my last event. The one person who I'd love to meet is Maurice Benard. He plays Sonny Corinthos.
I have wanted to meet Mr Benard for many, many years. He is a mental health survivor and an advocate to make people more aware, and he wants to make sure the stigma is erased. I'm not writing this entry because I'm looking for pity, or out of jealousy for those who get to go to these events every summer. I can say that I have had the good fortune of attending events in Boston, as well as NYC. But my dream has been to be able to go to GHFCW. To mingle with my FB friends and the actors would be a dream come true.
I often wish there'd be a contest to win tickets but I know that'll never happen. But hey a girl can dream right? I was supposed to meet Nancy Lee Grahn for the second time last year but due to my health I didn't go. Luckily the event organizer Belinda and Nancy herself both said the ticket is good for 2018. Maybe someone reading this has the same dream I do. To be able to attend a huge event such as this would be amazing!! I know my dream will never come true, and maybe it's not meant to.
I am so lucky to have been able to meet some very cool people through fan events though. I really want to meet my good friend Jocelyn Boyde and all the GH fans I'm friends with. Living on a limited income I've never been able to go to another event. It's my mom and dad who are nice enough to buy me the tickets, and even that is few and far between. I can dream about attending though, and often times the dreams are vivid. Kinda weird I know.
I have interviewed a few GH stars, including Kathleen Gati, and Wally Kurth. Both are very nice people. I'd love to interview Maurice Benard for my blog next. He is someone I look up to and would love to say thanks to in person one day. I hope one day, that one or the other come true. For those reading this I hope you enjoy this entry.
