A thank you to those who teach and make a difference

       Hi everyone,
I hope the new school year is a good one so far, I am writing this to thank those who impacted my life. I am grateful to all my teachers who guided me through life. I think Middle school was the hardest time of my education. I was bullied, It hurt so much to hear all the things my own peers would say to me. I felt like there was nobody to count on, but my teachers were the only ones I could count on. One in particular comes to mind and that is Mrs Cantillon, she was a great support system, she was always there for me, I could tell her all that was going on and she would give such great advice, I am so grateful that she was and still is there for me.
    But everyone that worked with me while I attended Middle School helped me not only through the hardest time of my life, but getting through the day too. Ms Raimondo would greet me with a smile and a hello. If I'm not mistaken, there was a day that I was struggling really bad, she asked me if she could give me a hug. It made me feel good to know that she cared about me.  She is also someone that I looked to for help, I am blessed that these two wonderful educators keep in touch with me to this day.
       High School was also tough, I was dealing with MCAS. Let me tell you, math and I aren't friends, and we never will be. I was a Sophomore when I first took the math portion, I also had a new special education teacher, her name. Mrs Waybright, It took me two years to FINALLY pass the test. I have never had someone who believed in me so much that I could overcome this obstacle. I never thought I would pass to be honest. But when I did near the end of my senior year, to say I was relieved is an understatement.
     If it hadn't been for the support I had from this wonderful teacher I probably would have given up. I'm glad that she didn't give up on me. She continued to push me to not give up. I still hope that one day I too can make a difference in someones life. I know there are kids out there who need the extra love and support. I could say so many things for my College professors but that's a blog post for another time. I hope the educators in my life have a fabulous school year and that the students have a good year too.
    Also, if any student is struggling, please don't hesitate to reach out to your teacher, or anybody working at your school. Talk to someone you can trust. Trust me the support saved my life.
