I've only worked in retail I have little to no experience working with kids, though I did some mentoring while I was at Landmark. I enjoyed it thoroughly. There are some fabulous people in my life who are great at what they do. I want to pay it forward. I want to make those who worked with me proud. I don't want to be stuck working retail. It's not for me. It's not that I don't like it, retail is NOT my dream. Education or even human services is. In school, practically throughout I gravitated towards the adults. It was always a difficult task to make friends my own age.
I want to help those kids who like me are struggling and might need extra help. I want to make a difference in their lives. I am up for a challenge. I can do anything when put to the task. Now to veer of the subject a lot. I want to volunteer with horses, perhaps even go horseback riding. I've wanted to do both for quite some time. I've been meaning to look into it. But life has been busy. But I know that's no
excuse. I've always loved animals especially horses. I'm very gentle and wouldn't mind having a farm one day with a nice big area to go riding. I want to instead of being the crazy cat lady be the crazy horse lady and just own a bunch of them and go riding and have a ton of fun.
If anyone knows how I can start small with both dreams. Where I can go to look for mentoring jobs, volunteer jobs with horses, etc. Anything really it doesn't matter. I will do anything so long as its not retail. I can't go back to school at this point so I'd rather look into things that are attainable. I wish school were an option but it's not. Trust me if I knew Landmark was going to be that expensive I would have never gone at all. But then I realize I could have easily not had my Bachelor's degree.
