Saturday November 22nd: A dream come true

It all started with a dream, I was a little thing pretty much in a diaper and picked up A Carly Simon CD off the shelf. I instantly fell in love with this singer. Her powerful voice, her beauty, her class, etc.. I had always wanted to meet Carly but never thought I would. Her daughter Sally Taylor was doing a project called Consenses at Wellesley College. I was wanting to go but the tickets were 200 bucks a piece. I knew the chances were slim that I'd be able to go. But little did I know that a surprise was up my mom's sleeve. I had no idea for weeks that I was going to the benefit concert. On Saturday I got my haircut and afterwards, my mom, dad, and I headed off for a late lunch. The more we were driving the more I wondered where the heck are we going. As we drove further I noticed signs for Wellesley and became confused. I was thinking my parents were rubbing salt in an already sad wound, We went to this amazing restaurant called The Cottage, I had a delicious chicken salad sandwich and a mocktail.
I had gone to google maps and realized that I was less than 5 minutes away from where the benefit concert was going to be. After dinner my dad drove to the campus and we saw the free exhibit which was breathtaking by the way. I met my awesome friend Gabriella Greco and another friend too. Then I saw Ben Taylor. I yelled out I love YOU BEN!!! I'm sure I embarrassed him. Then I saw my moms friend Carol. I didn't know anything at this point then I went to my mom and told her I was tired and that I wanted to go home, But she told me we were in fact not leaving that we were staying for the concert. I was in shock. I couldn't react until we got to the venue and got our VIP front row tickets. I couldn't believe we were front row. The talent was amazing!! Sally Taylor, Libby Kirkpatrick and Kori Withers, to Ben Taylor. All the musicians were amazing. The the last act was the legend herself Ms Carly Simon. She sang a song that she wrote when she was only 18 years old and she sang Anticipation and the crew came out and sang Lean on me. I had no idea what was next after the concert was over,
I got to go backstage and meet Carly!!!! I was in awe of her beauty, I thought she looked simply gorgeous!! I got a picture taken with her and my mom was with her too. It was a day, and a night I will never ever forget in my life. It was a dream I had always thought of but never thought it would come true. I thank my mom, her friend Carol and everyone and I do mean everyone who had a part in the special night.
