I am so grateful to have found Cornerstone, mind you at first I was very, very unsure about it and didn't want to go because I thought it would be similar to a hospital setting. I started going to Cornerstone on November 21st and haven't missed a day. I love the groups. I love all the writing groups. I especially like the writing group with Katherine. I get to be with some awesome people during the day who understand me, and don't judge me. My friend Bill who is a client always compliments me. He is a very nice man. He makes sure to let me know I am beautiful. It's hard to hear it still, but I am working on it. I still have a difficult time looking in the mirror and saying to myself that I am okay just the way I am.
I also owe a lot to the staff at Cornerstone, Beth, Gabrielle, Brandon, Chris, Rosie, everyone there has just been so welcoming and hospitable towards me. It makes me feel so special to know that they like me for me and appreciate me. I am proud to be a member of Cornerstone. I will be graduating and moving on at some point. It will be difficult because I like everyone, and have become accustomed to going everyday. I hope I can run a group of my own there and offer support to someone else who may need it. I also wish a great 2014 for everyone at Cornerstone. That it is a safe one for them and a happy one. I feel fortunate to have structure in my life. But I also miss my friends at the Haverhill Clubhouse. The Director helped set things in motion for me by taking me to crisis when I needed some extra support. If I hadn't gone into her office back in October who knows maybe I never would have had Cornerstone in my life.
I am so blessed that she helped me. I can't thank her enough. Cornerstone is special. I never experienced anything like it before. Of course I have gone to the Point After club and other clubhouses but Cornerstone is a whole other story. I really can't explain it away. You have to experience it to understand what it's like. I am looking forward to the rest of my time there. I hope to learn more, and gain some useful tools as I did today. I am so lucky to have the friends I have there. So I guess this is my final blog entry for 2013. Unless of course I come up with something else tomorrow. I hope everyone has a happy new year and stays safe and happy. I love you all. Thanks for continuing to follow my blog.
