Hi everyone sorry it's been so long since I last wrote on my blog. I've had a lot on my mind. There are a lot of changes coming at my program over the next week. First and foremost another company is taking over on July 1st which also happens to be my 26th birthday and 4 of the staff members are leaving. I won't name names but they know who they are. I have come to love these 4 people. I love everyone at the club. I'm not leaving anyone out. I'm really struggling to come to terms with the changes that are about to happen. I've worked with these 4 people for a couple of years now. I realize I may not be a longtime member but these people have changed my life forever. I don't know where I would be without them. The assistant director was kind enough to take me to Worcester last Friday to a young adult legislative breakfast. I thought it was incredibly nice of her to take the time out of her day to take me, we also got to spend some quality time together and listened to some good music on the radio. She has been promoted to Director of the Haverhill club as of July 1st! I'm very happy for her. I know everyone will love her just as we all do at the club. She has really gone above and beyond in terms of helping me and others at the club. I will miss her presence at the Point After Club. But I know she will be a phone call away.
I know change is a good thing. I'm extremely happy that the 4 people are moving on to bigger and better things, but it will be difficult to say goodbye on Friday. I will miss their presence and their smiling faces. They all know how to cheer me up. I can honestly say everyone who works at my program are life changing people and nobody can replace them. Like I said change can be good but it doesn't mean I have to except it or even like it. Change has never been easy for me, it's hard for me to take in and I often struggle with it more than I think. I don't know what will happen in a year from now. Will I be here? Will I still be a member of the Point After Club? These questions are left unanswered for now but hopefully I will be here because I have come to appreciate the staff and members at PAC like family. I hope everyone knows that. I'm sure they do. I've done a lot for myself since joining the club 3 years ago. I've spoken at the Statehouse in Boston and most recently as stated above spoken at a young adult legislative breakfast. It was fun my whole family showed up!!
I will really miss those who are leaving but hope I can keep in touch with them and let them know how I'm doing. I owe these people a lot for what they've done for me. I've been able to work at Garden Street, stop and shop and Kohl's. I never thought I'd be able to work due to my illness but I have and for that I am grateful. I will never forget what I've learned from these wonderful people either. I've learned to think outside the box and come to see myself in a different light. I will never EVER forget them. No matter who comes in to replace them I won't forget their love and compassion that these people have for me. Like the quote says "friends are the family we find along the way". It will be incredibly hard to see them leave and to say goodbye but I know that I will most likely see them again. I can never say enough but I owe them a debt of gratitude. They are the most understanding people and they GET IT! They understand who we are. They don't judge us, they love us, they show compassion, and when we struggle they lift us up and help us when we need it the most. I will end this post for now, but if I think of anything else I will post it when I can. Thanks for reading and taking the time to understand me and appreciate my blog posts. :)
